When you learn how to take care of your sportswear, it will serve you well. We know about a few habits that make that fresh feeling last longer.
Stick to our essentials:
Wash it after each ride. If you can’t put your kit in the washing machine straight away, rinse it under the shower or tap in the meantime.
Wash cool. Wash at 30°C for the most effective and hygienic clean.
Wash delicately. Performance fabrics need a gentle approach. Lower speeds use less energy and promote the longevity of your kit.
Use gentle detergent. Avoid harsh soaps and use only the minimum amount.
Don’t use fabric conditioner. This could compromise the breathability of your technical kit.
Keep it separate. Use a laundry bag to protect your cycling kit from abrasive materials and make sure to close zippers and turn clothing inside out. At Tactic, we use the Guppyfriend Laundry Bag.
Air dry in the shade. Don’t leave your kit to dry in direct sunlight and do not tumble dry.
Keep it protected. Protect your kit by not letting it catch against rough surfaces, like stone walls and avoid scrubbing against saddle bags.
